Warehouse Operative Job Description

Salary

£11.21 per hour

Over time paid at time and a half

Must be flexible in hours and days of work to meet the demands of the business

Hours

3 on 3 off shifts rotating days and nights, 12 hour shifts 7-7

The Role

Our warehouse stores supplies, including raw, dried, and refrigerated food stuff. They also house finished products that have been manufactured and packaged before they are sold or further distributed.

The warehouse operative will work closely with the warehouse supervisor and manager as well as liaising with team colleagues and other essential departments.

Daily Duties

• Using Counterbalance and Reach forklift trucks
• Transferring and moving supplies into and around the site and storing appropriately, using the correct rotation of stock
• Maintaining minimum and essential levels of products, and associated supplies within the warehouse. Accurately recording stock levels
• Complying with all health and safety legislation, ensuring a clean environment and good housekeeping
• Supporting any general maintenance of machinery and reporting any defects
• Attending training and developing courses, as appropriate

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience of working within a warehouse, preferably in food manufacturing, food supply chain, or similar
• Experience of using Counterbalance forklift truck is essential
• Experience of using Reach forklift trucks is preferred
• Basic understanding of maths and English
• NVQ Level 2, or equivalent in warehousing welcomed
