Giving back to the community: Fareshare
14/09/2022
Along with Fareshare, we believe that no good food should go to waste. Fareshare is the largest network of food redistributors in the country, tirelessly redistributing food to charities to be turned into meals.
We have been working with the company for quite some time to share out any surplus scones we have. In July of this year, 95 frontline charities received 1.2 tonnes of our scones, which means nearly 3000 meals for vulnerable people have been contributed to.
Wayne Padgett, our Managing Director, explains:
“I think it’s a brilliant thing for us to be able to do. It’s distributing quality food that would otherwise be wasted, so the more products we can give to people, the better. In this climate with how things are going and the cost of living rising, people will be struggling, so having a few scones on the table will make a difference. Everything we pass onto Fareshare is just as good as what’s on the supermarket shelves, so I’m very pleased and proud that we can contribute to this.”
We look forward to continuing our work with Fareshare.
